I mean Kataang was so cloying, if they called each other ‘Sweetie’ one more time… It all just seemed so… superficial and fake and showy. 

And Zuko doesn’t even tell Mai when he’s going away. I like Maiko, I think it’s a lot better developed than Kataang, which, well, oogies. All the oogies. I couldn’t ship it even if I didn’t like Zuko. Mai and Zuko at least seem to understand one another, and yet even that relationship is having serious issues.

Meanwhile Katara risks her life to save Zuko, even though she believes he betrayed them. Again.

If they’re so set on leaving us with Kataang, which I know they are, they might as well make it look like there is /some/ chemistry there.
